Just a short note to let all businesses know that if you going to have JoAngela’s cater your event (and I know you want to). Call as much in advance as possible to get the date and time you need.  We are filling up fast.  Call 248-852-9400 and ask for Debbie, our catering manager extordinaire. She is there by 8:00 a.m. and she leaves at 3:00 p.m.  If you call and she is not there, just leave a message and she will call you back as soon as she comes in the following day.

Merry Christmas

Hi it’s that time of year. Christmas in Downtown Auburn Hills starts this Friday Dec.7. Come down and enjoy a fun filled family event. We here at JoAngela’s will have live entertaiment, beautiful decorations, and a great deal for the family.

We are offering for that night only 1 large pizza with cheese and pepperoni and 4 fountain drinks for just $12.00 (tax included)

The city with the help of Santa and Mrs. Clause will light the tree and all the beautiful lights in downtown will come alive. There will be live carolers, horse drawn carriage rides, and special events for the children.  Come on down and enjoy the night.

On Saturday the River Church located on Squirrel Road just south of the bike trail, will have their special live ice carving competion, old Christmas movies, a cake walk, and refreshments will be available.

The Downtown Merchants and The River Church as gone to great lengths, along with the TIFA board to start your holiday off right. Come and see what we are all about.

I just want to share with you some great news.  We were deeply humbled to receive the 2012 Service Above Self award last night at Oakland Community College in Auburn Hills. It was presented to us by the President of the Auburn Hills Rotary club.

While we appreciate being recognized for our work to help those in need it was not necessary.  We do not do what we do to get awards, we do it because God shows us a need and we do our best to help fill it.

Thank you again to those who nominated us and for those who voted for us.

It’s been a great year. We are again nominated to 4thebest. If you would like to vote for us go to Clickondetroit.com. Under contests you will see 4thebest, click on that and then just put our name jo’angela’s pizza and deli in the search line, click on us and vote. Very simple. We appreciate each and every vote. You can vote once a week and you can also put in comments. It has come to our attention that there are some people who are not aware of our deli hours. The deli sandwich department is open from 10:00 a.m. -3:00 p.m. Mon-Fri.  That same department is open 11:00-3:00 on Saturdays. We are sorry if that has caused any dissappointment.  Our stupendous cook Debbie has to has some time for her family.

I would like to thank all of our customers, old and new, for a fabulous year.

We decided this year we will close the week between Christmas and New Year,

to take a well deserved vacation.  The first one in 4 1/2 years. We will be closed from 12-24-11 thru 1-1-12. We will re-open at 10:00 a.m. 1-2-12.

We want to thank all of our great customers who voted for us recently in the DetroitAlist competition. We are ecstatic to announce that we placed 12th in a field of 168 pizzerias that were nominated as the best in the Detroit metro area. This included not only independents (like us) who have only one location,but also all the chains and pizzerias with multiple locations. Recently a national food publication ranked Tomatoes Apizza in Farmington as the best pizza in Detroit. Well we are happy to say that they only came in 14th. Sorry Mike. We’ll let you know when the contest is.

It’s that time of year to vote for us again.  We are nominated this year on Detroit’s A List for one of the best businesses in the Detroit Area.  It is very simple to vote. Go to detroitalist.com, register then type Jo’Angegla’s Pizza and Deli in the search line, when we come up just click on the vote box. Last year we came in 6th and this year we want to number one.

For those of you in the know. We had a fabulous Summerfest put on by the city here in Beautiful Downtown Auburn Hills.

The city did a free ice cream social Friday night, Rotary Club had a Pancake breakfast, there was a bar-b-que cook off, entertainment, and a car show.  Thanks to all who attended.  To those who didn’t we hope to see you next year.  Don’t forget coming events include Spooktacular in October, and the Tree lighing ceremony in December.

I’m sure you have noticed the baricade in the front of the building.  We are getting a face lift.  We should be barrier free (weather permitting) this week or next.  Come check us out.  In the meantime you can enter the building from the rear.

Great time had by all the BNI members who came to lunch Friday.  Such a good time I think next time I’ll check the Pepsi machine to make sure there was nothing stronger than pop in there.  We really enjoyed having you all here.  Maybe we could make it a weekly occurrence.  You could call yourselves the BNI lunch bunch.
